DESCRIPTION:Leader: Dr Gareth Martin WYGT & LGA \nThe Upper Haslingden Flags (along with the Lower Haslingden Flags) are a unique sandstone unit in the Millstone Grit Group of the Carboniferous\, which was likely deposited in as a bird’s foot delta and is an expression of westerly source rocks into the Pennine Basin. Lee Quarry represents one of the best exposures of the Upper Haslingden Flags available and allows study of the rocks up close.
