Membership of Leeds Geological Association is open to all.
Why Become a member?
Your subscription supports the organisation in carrying out its charitable objectives (see Association).
You will enjoy:
- Lectures: a winter programme of monthly lectures.
- Field Visits: a summer programme of full/ half day /evening visits to places of geological interest led by experts. There is also the opportunity to participate in a residential visit to a more distant area.
- Newsletter: a regular newsletter with details of forthcoming events run by the Association and others in the region and items of local or national geological interest.
- Publications: a printed copy of the annual Field Visit Reports booklet.
LGA Membership Subscriptions
The Association has the following categories of membership open to all:
- Ordinary member – Open to any adult person (18 years or over). £12.00 per year.
- Associate members – Open only to other named adult persons residing at the same address as the Ordinary Member. £7.00 per year (Note: Only the Ordinary member receives copies of the Association’s Newsletters and other publications).
- Student member – Open only to persons who are in full-time education £2.50 per year.
- Temporary member – Open to persons who are not otherwise members of the Association who attend a field visit. This is required for insurance purposes and only valid for the duration of that meeting and is payable on the day of the field visit. £2.00 per meeting.
Our subscription session runs from 1st January to 31st December. New members who join and pay a subscription between 1st November and 31st December will not be required to pay a subscription for the year commencing the following 1st January.
Joining the Association
Download and complete an Application for Membership Form and return it together with the appropriate subscription to the Membership Secretary.
Membership Renewals
This can be done by one of the following methods:
(i) Standing Order: download the form and send it to your bank / set upon your banking app using the details on the form. Please inform the Membership Secretary of this.
(ii) Bank transfer for which the details can be obtained from the standing order form.
(iii) Cheque made out to Leeds Geological Association sent to the Membership Secretary.
(iv) Cheque or cash handed to the Membership Secretary at a Meeting.
Note: Payment by Standing Order or Bank transfer is preferred.
