Flamborough: Sewerby – South Landing

July 4 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Leader: Richard Myerscough. FEAST

Chalk succession through the Upper Flamborough Formation with several regionally and nationally important biozones and marker horizons. Overlying are the glaciogenic and glaciofluvial Devensian and post Devensian tills, sands, and gravels. The interglacial Ipswichian Buried cliff cuts through the chalk sequence to form an internationally important feature. The Chalk is folded and faulted by the Flamborough Head Fault Zone with localised marbleisation and associated historical, and vernacular associations.
